MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

(OP)
Dear Sir/Madam,

City of Zagreb,Croatia(population 900 000),is planning to
construct WTE(Waste-to-Energy)plant for coinceration of
some 300 000 t/y of MSW(Municipal Solid Waste) and about
75 000 tDS/y of sewage sludge from the future Municipal
waste water treatment plant.
Any relevant information or experience on operational or
planned WTE plants of such type would be very helpful in
preparation for the construction of the Zagreb facility.

Thank you in advance!

Vladimir Potocnik

RE: MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

For additional information, you might try the website of the Water Environment Federation (WEF).  This is a large industry organization of wastewater treatment professionals.  They have an extensive library of reference books available for purchase on line, and I believe that there are some that discuss incineration of waste and probably WTE facilities.  Their website is www.wef.org.

Good Luck.

RE: MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

A source of information on waste-to-energy is the Integrated Waste Management Association (www.wte.org).

What is the status of the waste-to-energy project in Zagreb?

RE: MSW and sewage sludge coincineration

Global Plasma Systems Group are actively engaged in MSW WtE projects in Europe (& Asia-Pacific) using technology described as 'plasma pyrolysis vitrification'.  They have offices in Spain, Italy, Kuala Lumpur & HO in Washington.

Contact companies like Lurgi, Kvaerner, Austrian Energy for information on their rotating and/or circulating fluidized bed incinerators. Applications : Madrid , Berlin, Sweden, France... and within a  2 year in Antwerp (permitting ok, building will start soon)
