CFM - Platform Framing - Floor Joist Parallel to Wall Condition

Is there a typical detail for an exterior wall section using cold formed metal framing floor joists and wall studs utilizing platform framing for the parallel to wall case?

See attached details as a suggestion. This issue is in the parallel to wall case. Normally in wood construction you have a rim joist that sits flush with the outside of the wall. Due to the slender web of CFM C-joist I assume that you would need 'squash blocks' or something similar. Otherwise you could move the joist inside of the wall, however you must then lengthen the wall studs (you would then have different wall heights for the parallel and perpendicular sections).

Thanks!

RE: CFM - Platform Framing - Floor Joist Parallel to Wall Condition

I have used both details. Sometimes it is easier to specify a heavy gage band that can take the vertical loads. I like the extended stud version. Makes everything work out nicer. Make sure you specify the splices in the band or the track to give you a proper diaphragm chord. (it won't get built like that, but specify it anyhow :>)
