Base plate holes for post installed anchors
Base plate holes for post installed anchors
(OP)
I know that AISC design guide 1 provides recommended hole sizes for anchor rods in base plates. My question is if these same recommendations apply when you are using post installed anchors?
It seems to me that with post installed anchors you can remove most of the field fit-up issues that need the large holes. At the same time if you use standard holes you then could remove any need for welding of plate washers to transfer shear.
Does anyone know of recommendations or articles on this issue?

The greatest trick that bond stress ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't exist.
