SI Requirements - Curtain wall connections

(OP)
Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not welded curtain wall connections to a steel bent plate on a steel framed building falls under special inspection requirements using IBC, or more specifically, North Carolina SBC?

RE: SI Requirements - Curtain wall connections

i've seen it specified on a few hospitals and municipal buildings i've inspected in NC. not really answering the question, but i think there is some building info that your question is leaving out. All of the times, it was in its own itemized Schedule of SI specifically for the curtainwall, and not just calling it "structural steel".
