Can anyone tell me if special certifications are required for a contractor to perform repairs to undergroung fire water lines? If so, what NFPA code number can be referenced??

RE: Underground Fire Main repairs

NFPA 24 Section 4.2 requires the work to be performed by fully experienced and responsible persons. No requirements for certification exist in the Standard. The jurisdiction may have specific licensing requirements so I suggest you contact the AHJ.

Feeding fire hydrants only ???

Feeding fire sprinkler systems only ???

Or both ????

If fire sprinkler , do they have to be certified in that city or state , to do work???
