Calculation of Lateral Acceleration on High Rise Buildings due to service Wind

Calculation of Lateral Acceleration on High Rise Buildings due to service Wind

(OP)
Hi All,

Has anyone came across with any programs or spreadsheet that calculate the lateral acceleration on high rise building during service wind load?

At the moment I'm creating my own spreadsheet based on ISO10137 and NS-EN 1991-1-4. It would be good to test it against any existing software or spreadsheet.

Thanks

Etabs?

Not sure how well it's suited to high rise building, however I believe Autodesk Robot now comes with a CFD wind analysis module.

Maybe that's work a look?

ETABS is the world leading software for the analysis of High Rise Structure.

Slickdeals,

Thanks heaps for sharing the spreadsheet, i will test it and compare the results with my hands calculation. HAve you tested this spreadsheet? Did you have correlations with results from Windtunnel tests?

Yeah I know, Nathan. I was thinking that could be a good way to check the accuracy of your hand calcs.
