GI CONDUIT INSTALLATION REQUIRED AROUND FRESH AIR DUCT IN FALSE CEILING AREA.

(OP)
Dear friends,

Can anyone explain the reason for when Fresh air duct is passing through the false celing area, then the consultant was asking around the duct, the electrical services shall be provided with GI conduit only. Is there any criteria or technical reasons in behind of it.

Thanks for your valuable comments.

Regards,

v.swamydhas.

RE: GI CONDUIT INSTALLATION REQUIRED AROUND FRESH AIR DUCT IN FALSE CEILING AREA.

What is GI conduit and what did the consultant say why?

What consultant? Plumbing, fire, LEED, civil, retirement, custodial...???

RE: GI CONDUIT INSTALLATION REQUIRED AROUND FRESH AIR DUCT IN FALSE CEILING AREA.

Usually GI stands for Galvanized iron.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

The conduit requirement is usually when the above-ceiling area is a return air plenum.
