Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

(OP)
I am trying to determine the temperature of air in a compressed air distribution sytem after a pressure reducing control valve.  The air should cool to the J-T effect but cannot locate data for the the J-T coefficient for air in the 0 to 100 degrees C range.

RE: Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

Perry's 6th edition, page 2-133 has this data.  It's easier for me to email you a copy than trying to recopy it here, please drop me your email address either here or at testdog2000@yahoo.com

RE: Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

As TD2K says Perry VI has a table.

For 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 Celsius -->:

1 atm    0.2745  0.2320  0.1956  0.1614   0.1355
20 atm   0.2580  0.2173  0.1830  0.1508   0.1258

RE: Joule-Thomson Coefficient for air

We are using the table provided by the NIS for nitrogen it should give you sufficiently close values
