say there is a 12 inches dia impeller installed in a pump there will be a system curve and the operating point will be the intersection of these two

now, say we replace the larger impeller with a smaller impeller, will the original system curve also change or remain the same?

thank you

RE: impeller dia and system curve

Changing the impeller diameter does not change the system curve.

I think that you meant is pump performance curve and not system curve, however, I don't want to second guess.

for chicopee

no i did not mean performance curve, i meant systems curve in the second case.

thank you

RE: impeller dia and system curve

Tomoto5,

The answer is fairly clear, why would the system curve change when nothing in it has changed?

This is a simple question so gets a fairly simple answer. Is there something more complex behind this that would cause you to think differently?
