Crop/trim components in view

I have a component that is shown as phantom in a view for visual and reference dimensions. I have some dimensions that overlap it can I crop out part of the component? Screen shot attached. The catch is it is an alternate position view or I would do a broke out section to remove a section but that is not allowed in an alternate view. In AutoCad one would probably just trim the lines etc.. Anything like that in SW?

RE: Crop/trim components in view

You should be able to crop. Just make sure that your spline goes around the part you want to keep.

Thought of it, a lot of lines to hide and it would not be a nice spline type cut. Crop doesn't seem to want to work, I make a closed profile but the icon is greyed out. I'm guessing the alt position in affecting it. I'd rather not but only thing i can think of is to cut in the model and add a configuration.
