Manufacturer Certification for ASTM pipes

Manufacturer Certification for ASTM pipes

Manufacturer Certification for ASTM pipes

(OP)
Hi,
If I need to know if a manufacturer is qualified or capable to produce ASTM standard pipes (A106, A312, etc.), are there any certifications that the manufacturers should have? As I know, for API pipes, the manufacturers have certificates from API to use their monogram. Furthermore, what's the best way to determine that a certain manufacturer is capable of manufacturing pipes as the ASTM standard, without testing samples or finished products.

The purpose is to see whether or not a manufacturer is allowed to participate in a purchase tender that we will conduct.

Thanks for the help!

DekDee,
Thanks for the help.

cvg,
Do you mean that I should just ask the manufacturer? I want to make sure they are a good manufacturer that can make good products as per the specs. I can't just ask them that.

Anybody else have any ideas?

RE: Manufacturer Certification for ASTM pipes

you asked if they were qualified or capable. you certainly can ask that and you should expect them to produce certifications. if they are certified, than presumably the are "good".
