Unidentified Pipe in ASME B31.8

Unidentified Pipe in ASME B31.8

Unidentified Pipe in ASME B31.8

(OP)
What is the exact definition of "Unidentified Pipe" which is addressed in para.817(ASME B31.8)?
Is it possible to consider an unknown pipe as "Unidentified Pipe"? (perhaps, unknown pipes are rejected products of pipe manufacturing company!)

RE: Unidentified Pipe in ASME B31.8

Unidentified pipe is pipe with no certification or lost specifications. Unidentified could have been rejected for all we might know, which is all the more reason to do careful and adequate testing before use, if you must use it.

you must get smarter than the software you're using.
