Fire protection
Fire protection
(OP)
Can anyone suggest the proper code or standard to follow for plant firewater piping(psv, monitors, valves, etc) inspections? Would it be NFPA 25?

RE: Fire protection
There are a lot of NFPAs, the ones that I've used on tank farms so far are:
NFPA 11 - Standard for Low Expansion Foam
NFPA 13 - Installation of Sprinkler systems
NFPA 16 - Standard for the Installation of Foam-Water Sprinkler and Foam-Water Spray Systems
NFPA RP 14G - Recommended Practice for Fire Prevention and Control on Open Type Offshore Production Platforms
NFPA 20 - Standard for the Installation of Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection
NFPA 22 - Standard for Water Tanks for Private Fire Protection
NFPA 25 - Standard for Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems
NFPA 30 - Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code
NFPA 58 - Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases
You can also make use of IP19.
Hope this helps!
