thanks for your replies. Just for my own understanding. When they created this function do you think it would have been much more effort to allow it to be printed? Or did the program team think it was not necessary? I don't understand why they would give me such a cool function but only let me use it half way.

The issue is that there's nothing there to print. The grid points are not objects in the database, they're just graphical elements added to the display of the model but there's nothing there to print/plot. It's like when you see coneheads or splats (*) that often occurs during a modeling session. Even if they don't immediately go away after an operation, if you were to try and create a print/plot, they would not show.

You can always use the snipping tool in Windows, but i realize that is not what you are looking for here
