Modeling Honeycomb sandwich panel

Modeling Honeycomb sandwich panel

(OP)
I need to model an aircraft door with a sandwich construction as given below.

-- Prepreg - Face skin (0/90)
-- Prepreg - Doubler (+-45)
-- Core Material
-- Prepreg - Doubler (+-45)
-- Prepreg - Face skin (0/90)

I am doing it by using 3D solid modeling for the core and 2D shell modeling for the doubler and face skin.
How can I make sure I am doing the prepreg lay up corretcly ?, that is I need to lay up the doubler and then the face skins on both sides of the core.

Also the door has two rectangular cutouts on it and I need to make sure the cut outs dont have the doubler and only need to have the face skins.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
