Horizontal spline in NX7.5?

Horizontal spline in NX7.5?

Horizontal spline in NX7.5?

(OP)
How to be sure if a new created spline is horizontal, or how can i make it horizontal, in NX7.5?

RE: Horizontal spline in NX7.5?

By definition, since it's a 'spline' there is no way, that I'm aware of, to create a spline and then force it to be 'horizontal', which I assume that you mean inside a sketch since that's the only place that you can constrain any curve to be 'horizontal'. And if you really do wish to have a 'horizontal' spline I guess that it would have to be as straight-as-a-line or it wouldn't be much of 'horizontal' anything, now would it? And if that's the case, why not just use a 'horizontal' line in the first place?

Thanks so much for your response. I was trying to draw a horizontal spline in order to work with it, with both ends of it, in a perpendicular plane.
I see your point and you're right. The reason I'm using a spline in it is because the line, between these two points, is not straight at all. It's horizontal only in one view.

Thank you once again John.

RE: Horizontal spline in NX7.5?

OK, if that's the case, try creating a planar surface and then create your spline either by projecting a 3D spline onto what would be a 2D 'world' and the spine would thus look 'horizontal' when viewed from the side or else use the...

Insert -> Curve -> Curve on Surface...

...function to draw your spline on the planar surface thus giving you would appear to be a 'horizontal' line when viewed from the side or edge of the planar surface.
