Interpart expressions from within part family parts

Interpart expressions from within part family parts

(OP)
Hi,
Please can someone help with my predicament.

I am wanting to create an assembly of parts that includes part family members, and want to be able to link expressions from these parts to other parts within the assembly. I then want to be able to switch out the part family member with one of its 'brothers' and have any dependant parts update automatically to suit. Simply speaking it is like a headed pin with variable dimensions in a counter-bored hole scenario.

I have managed to do it by extracting linked curves from the sketch within the family part, but want to do this with expressions only.
Is this possible? and if so, how?

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Kind regards,

If you use Interpart Expressions and then use the Replace Component tools, you should be OK as long as the expression names are consistent.
