Custom Plotting in AutoCaddR14

Custom Plotting in AutoCaddR14

Custom Plotting in AutoCaddR14

(OP)
When plotting out drawings I have to go thru several steps to plot because I use the "Custom P" option to make the drawings align properly.  My exact steps to plot are...
Device & Default Selection ==> Change ==> (select the printer) ==>Properties ==> Custom P ==> Custom ==> (adjust width, length, & offsets)==> Choose "OK" ==> Choose "Apply" ==> Choose "OK" ==> CHoose "OK" ==> Choose "OK" ==> Choose"ok".  I'm wondering if there is a way to save the width, length, and offset settings to use on future drawings.  Up to now I've always have to retype the width, length, and offsets & it takes more time than if I could just save the settings.  Any ideas about how to save these settings?

RE: Custom Plotting in AutoCaddR14

you have not indicated the application involved. the most popular AutoCAD programm has sophisticated features like customizing your plot settings. in Rel 14 you can try and view the plot configuration and save the settings as a plot partial configuration file (*.pcp). i find this very handy since, we can standardise pen settings, margins, scales, paper sizes etc.

RE: Custom Plotting in AutoCaddR14

In the worst case, I could provide a macro in AutoLisp or in VBA to automate all those steps needed for plotting.

I have supplied macros which at one click produce a thousand drawings, attach xref file, rotate to horizontal for plotting and produce plt files, saving all the production under a neat directory structure, and producing a  doc report of the whole harvest. All this, at one click of a tool bar or at typing of new command.

Feel free to email me.
