Geometric Nonlinearities

Geometric Nonlinearities

Hi friends,
I need to simulate a nonlinear geometry in Ansys APDL, I use solution control box where I choose "large displacement", is it sufficient? or I have to specify strain/stress variation of material?
best regards

RE: Geometric Nonlinearities

in Ansys, Large Displacement is a catch-all phrase for large strain and large displacement. go to the command line and type help, nlgeom.

RE: Geometric Nonlinearities

I don't know about Ansys APDL but in Ansys Workbench you activate nonlinear calculations by "Large deflection"

Thank you so much friends
