Laboratory for X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

Any recommendations?

I have some corrosion scale samples that require XRD to determine the compounds. Some are quite messy interms of contamination by insulation, water, etc.

RE: Laboratory for X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

Contact your nearest branch of Element and Exova, they will either have the technique or be able to send samples to a sister division that does.

RE: Laboratory for X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

hi,

In order to do a proper XRD analysis you are required to remove all corroded and foreign particles onto the surface prior to XRD check, if not you will get totally wrong chemical analysis record

RE: Laboratory for X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

He wants analysis of the deposits, hence XRD for actual compound identification.
As much as some of the labs can be tough to work with Element may be your best bet because they can send it to a lab in their system that is familiar with this work.

Note that samples for XRD first are evaluated by EDS to identify elements. The lab then uses that identification in matching to an XRD library of compounds.
