Best choice of California PE exam for environmental engineer

Best choice of California PE exam for environmental engineer

Best choice of California PE exam for environmental engineer

(OP)
Hi everyone!

I recently graduated from Cal Poly Slo with an MS in Engineering and a Specialization in Biochemical Engineering. I am currently working at a consultant firm doing environmental remediation (brownfields) and water/energy efficiency work. I want to eventually get a PE, but California does not offer a PE license for Environmental Engineering. Assuming I want to continue doing environmental remediation work, is there any advantages/disadvantages to taking the Civil versus the Chemical exam? I know a PE is a PE, but there must be some differences in how that affects your career. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
