Question on how to create part family O-Ring

Question on how to create part family O-Ring

(OP)
Hi,
I would like to create part family O-Ring.
The supplier give us the internal diameter and the size cord, but when the o-ring is mounted the size is deformed in each situation in the same assembly.
To avoid interference, the o-ring must be deformed.
I know that part families can be deformed part.
I ask you that have experience on this situation :
1) There is a solution to avoid deformation feature, because deformation feature create multi feature in assembly and the assembly now have not only empty and entire part reference set, but model reference set also and if I remember well, Siemens doesn't suggest to use model reference set in assembly apart milled assembly.

What it's your experience and suggestions about o-ring part families ?

Thank you...

RE: Question on how to create part family O-Ring

Create a part family master with both nominal size and installed size reference sets. You can carry both these reference sets over into the part family members and control the sizes via the expressions in the part family spreadsheet.

Hi Khimani,
your suggestion is what are you doing at work or it's a suggestion burn like now ?
I can create two reference set, related to two body, one called 'for_shaft' and other 'for_hole' that are controlled via expression in the Excel table, but the same o-ring can be installed in different configuration, for example an o-ring for 10 mm shaft can be mounted on 9.5 or 10.5 mm shaft a second of the compression that I want to apply to the o-ring.
Deformable part is a solution that has, for me, more contraindications that benefits.

Thank you...
