Olet on Reducer
Olet on Reducer
(OP)
We need to inlcude a drain connection in a concentric reducer due to inadeqaute space. At the site, i have seen a lot of fittings on the reducer for vent/drain connection. Would like to know, what fittings are exactly used in this case. Believe the connection wont be perpendicular due to reducer profile.

RE: Olet on Reducer
It will be below the floor of the higher pipe - which is OK, but above the floor of the lower pipe. No drain, the lower pipe will remain half-full of fluid.
RE: Olet on Reducer
Please note that an olet welded to a reducer requires calc. acc. 304.7.2.
RE: Olet on Reducer
I agree, a eccentric reducer, flat side down, "might' drain most of the line, but it not be efficient at getting allof the water/fluids out unless the eccentric reducer was in short section of line that was a low point. Unlikely.

If calculations allow (as per XL83NLs post) you could achieve a perpendicular drain with a Latrolet or an Elbolet.
