Structo-Crete and Fire Rating

Structo-Crete and Fire Rating

Structo-Crete and Fire Rating

(OP)
Has anyone used structo-crete concrete floor panels on a cf joist floor? I have not used these but have a client that is interested. I have not been able to find any info on how to deal with structural steel beams mixed into the system, i.e. I have a few steel girders mixed into the cf framing. Does anyone know if the fire rating can still be achieved? I am suspicious of the system but would like some info to back up my skepticism.

RE: Structo-Crete and Fire Rating

Never used it, but took a quick look at the product on the internet. The claim is the system can obtain a two hour fire rating. To achieve that, the cold formed members are relying on the ceiling.

I don't see why mixing steel beams into the system should have any effect on fire rating. Steel beams can easily reach a two hour fire rating with spray on fireproofing.

Thanks BA. I spoke to their technical department and they do not have a UL rated assembly that includes structural steel but they can issue a UL letter for such assembly stating a fire rating (in case anyone else comes across this condition).
