Curve Fit Arc

Curve Fit Arc

Curve Fit Arc

(OP)
Hello,

Using nx8.5, I am trying to fit an arc as close as possible to the edge of a blend surface.
I created an equally spaced point on the edge of the blend and used Fit Curve to create the arc.
The result is an arc that dips below the edge of the blend in certain areas.

I need the arc to be above the surface. The arc can't go below because it would cause the sweep to crash into the surface.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

RE: Curve Fit Arc

It would appear that your original 'body' does not represent an arc but rather some sort of 3D spline. If you want to reduce to the absolute simplest possible arc, use ONLY THREE POINTS.

Hi,

I started with the three point but I ended up using 50 points in a point set and fit curve.
I wasn't able to generate one that is completely above the blend surface so I just trimmed it off.
