ANSYS WB - pushover analysis

ANSYS WB - pushover analysis

ANSYS WB - pushover analysis

(OP)
Hi everone

For my Thesis I am suppose to conduct a pushover analysis of a Jacket offshore structure. I've done a bit of background reading about a pushover but I still dont know how to do it (to start) for a simple 2D strucuture in Workbench. As far as I know there is no predefined 'pushover' analysis so user need to defined all steps by himself.

Here are my thoughts:
1. Define material properties needed for plastic hinges i.e. elasto-plastic model
2. Model 2D jacket with lateral bracing
2. Assign load patter (Forces in nodes of the jacket)
3. Predefine a number of steps with increasing value of force i.e.
step1 - 2kN
step2 - Lock (2kN) and start with 3kN and so on...
4. Allow large deformation

Can someone verify that? :)
