Aluminium alloy for offshore applications

For one of the offshore project, we got a comment from the client that aluminium alloy shall not be used. Thanks to confirm whether the aluminium alloy is prohibited for use due to corrosion phenomena? If the supplier says that this aluminium alloy component is painted with a suitable coating system for marine application , whether this is acceptable.

This component is nothing but the housing of an electric actuator for the controlled volume injection pumps.

RE: Aluminium alloy for offshore applications

Please find a reference article "Aluminium in the offshore and automotive industry" by Prof Magnus Langseth.

Hope, you find it interesting. I find the demands and specs not being constant and varies with the projects. They are never perfect, but they always claim to be one, which is disturbing.

I'm just one step away from being rich, all I need now is money.

Thanks Arunmrao for the information. All the details given in the file sent by you are used as structural members . In my case it is a component ( housing of an actuator) .
