Artistic Image Background color

Artistic Image Background color

Artistic Image Background color

(OP)
Hello all,

I am making an NX9 Artistic Image using the Rough Pencil option. Results look good but I get this awful Blue background. How to I switch the background color to white?

I see sliders for all but background color.

Actually the sliders seem to have no effect either. Do I need a Studio License for this option?

Thanks!

RE: Artistic Image Background color

What version of NX are you running?

The 'background' color of an 'Artistic Image' is controlled by what the Shaded Background color WAS set to in Customer Defaults when the part file was FIRST created, NOT what it's set to now. Unfortunately there is NO way that I'm aware of to change those settings once a file has been created and saved. If you wish to change the background color of an 'Artistic Image' being created from an existing file, you need to first go to...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway - Visualization -> Background Color

...and in the 'Shaded View' section of the dialog set your background type and RGB values and save your defaults and restart NX. Now go to File -> New... and create a new Part file using the 'Blank' template. Now save this part giving it some useful name like 'Artistic_Image_Background'. Now when you want to create an image, open this part file and then add your subject part as a Component to this file and now you can create your desired Artistic Images.

And yes, you need a 'Studio' license to get the full benefit from this function.

RE: Artistic Image Background color

Forget everthing I said above about the way the background color is set for Artistic Images. I blew it.

To change the background color for Artistic Images, go to...

View -> Visualization -> Scene Editor...

...and under the tab labled 'Background', you can set the type of background, and for Artistic Images you're probably going to use the 'Plain' option, and when selected you can then change the color of the background in the 'Color Settings' section of the dialog and then hit OK. Note that this will NOT change the color of the current display, only the background when creating an Artistic Image.

Anyway, sorry for the false information in my first reply.
