Adding Light Gauge Mezzanine to (E) Concrete Bldg

Adding Light Gauge Mezzanine to (E) Concrete Bldg

(OP)
I'm planning to add a 70'x40' mezzanine to the interior of a relatively large, existing reinforced concrete building. What is the most efficient way to approach the design, with seismic interaction of the two systems being the main concern?

RE: Adding Light Gauge Mezzanine to (E) Concrete Bldg

What are the height and plan dimensions of the existing building? Is the mezzanine going in between the ground floor and second floor?

Can you tie the mezzanine floor diaphragm directly into shear walls that support the other floors? If so, then it's just another floor from an analysis standpoint.

The greatest trick that bond stress ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't exist.
