Drafting Pipes/Tubes

Drafting Pipes/Tubes

(OP)
Ergh... Its not pretty.

I 'think' I have access to tubing/piping lisence, but have no idea how to use it (This is in V6). So I have created my tube with multiple bends by simply creating points, drawing 3D lines between them, then using the 3D corner tool. Then I just sweep a circle along it, solidify it and hollow it out. Could be done many different ways.

Seeing as I already have 3D points at the intersections of the straights, I can create a coordinate table in the drawing easy enough for tube bending data table.

My question is more to do with the aesthetics of the drawing...How do I:

1. show a tube centre line? Other than some horrible floating sketch orientated in 3D space so that it is 'in front' of the drawing view, I cannot see how to do this. I cannot show my 3D spline used to create the sweep unless I show it as hidden detail...

2. How do I create nice bi obvious opint symbols on the drawing? The stanard points are small and I can't seem to customise them to be bigger.

3. How do I create/find a symbol to stick on the origin of the tube on the drawing? To show which direction X and Y and Z is in the different views.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jon Reynolds
