Hi friends

My question is how can I create a solid from a displayed tool in the CAM module.

Thanks in advance.

RE: CAM- create a a solid tool

Not that I'm aware of, but we're working on something like that in Modeling which will provide the ability to create a 'Swept Volume' which would simulate a milling tool moving in space and creating a solid representing that 3D 'space'. Unfortunately it's currently an R&D project but it may be released in one of the later MR's planned for the NEXT version of NX, that will be released later this year.

RE: CAM- create a a solid tool

From the Tool view of the operation navigator select the tool.

On the Assembly Navigator you should see the tool you just selected as a component

Right click and select make displayed part. Save the file.
