Well head threads
Well head threads
(OP)
We are a machine shop based in the uk and have a suite of clean-up tools to manufacture. We are an ISO certified company, do we still need to be API certified to cut the threads and and can anyone advise me where we can obtain the dimension specifications for the various threads used in this industry?
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Calvin

RE: Well head threads
Dimensions of threads are found in API Spec 5B, "Specification for Threading, Gaging, and Thread Inspection of Casing, Tubing, and Line Pipe Threads".
RE: Well head threads
Your company does not need to be API certified to cut API threads but as Gilmiril stated only if your clients require it.
Others that you may look into include:
API Spec 7-2, "Specification for Threading and Gauging of Rotary Shouldered Thread Connections" - Pins & Boxes
API Spec 5CT, "Specification for Casing and Tubing" - Couplings
API Spec 5L, "Specification for Line Pipe" - Couplings
