pattern in a drawing
pattern in a drawing
(OP)
hi,
I need to make a drawing for a part that has a flat pattern in it (you can see a picture in attached file).
I want to know if there is a standard way to give a patterns dimension without going one by one and giving all the dimensions , for example in my part the distance between the holes is 14 so how do i avoid putting a 14 dimension between each pair of holes?
thanks.

RE: pattern in a drawing
From appearance of your drawing you are in ISO part of the world.
I've never seen this method endorsed by ISO standard, but as long as drawing is unambiguous, that is, having only one interpretation, it shouldn't be that big of a problem.
I would also recommend using basic (theoretically exact) dimensions and geometric position tolerances.

Disadvantage of having wa-a-ay too many books I guess...
