How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

Title said it all, how to check percentage of holes in my assembly??

RE: How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

Sorry. Title didn't say it all. I have no idea what you are talking about. More detail please.

RE: How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

Percentage orifice area or percentage volume/capacity?

RE: How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

(OP)
Let's say I have assembly, and I want to know how much holes or openings do I have on complete assembly, so I need percentage of how much goes on holes/openings and how much on closed assembly. Both, percentage orifice area or percentage volume/capacity would be usefull if I could see part which says how much goes on holes/openings.

RE: How to check percentage of holes in my assembly

Create two configurations, one with all the holes suppressed and the other with all the holes un-suppressed. You can then created two configs of your assembly, Holes/No Holes referencing the appropriate part configs.
1. You can then compare volumes of the part/assembly between the configurations to compute a volume percentage.
2. You can pick the surfaces that the holes open on and compare their areas.

I am curious, though, why do you need this information?

Hi Updraft,

I've forgot that I've put the question here.. Sometimes, my constructions needs to satisfy standard needs, for example I've needed this because I was constructing frame for radiator which needs at least 60% holes in it because of the inflammability needs.

Your way is good, but it's manual and I was hoping there was already a build-in option to check this. Anyway thanks for the help.
