Cyclonefilter
Cyclonefilter
(OP)
Dear all, I need to know the necessity of providing the cyclone filter along with filtration unit with cartridges in a filtration skid for sales gas metering in pipeline projects. The flow rate is 152 MMSCFD & Flow velocity is 18.3 m/s. whether we have o use cyclone or not.

RE: Cyclonefilter
How are we supposed to know from the minimal (non existent) information you have provided?? Flow rate and velocity in your pipe is irrelevant (though velocity in your pipe looks a bit high). This is about gas quality and liquid free status and reliability, nothing else.
If you any chance whatsoever, of having liquid or even mist in your gas then a scrubber is a good idea as the cost of it compared to the cost of damage to any downstream equipment (especially compressors or third party equipment) is small

In general its very difficult in this forum to discuss these specifics. We cant tell if you need something or not - many factors may influence this. But someone might be able to tell what standards to use and what vendors that will deliver.
Best regards, Morten
RE: Cyclonefilter
Flow rate and velocity are not really relevant here, it's all about how dirty is your gas?
