How to apply TEMA beyond scope criteria ???

How to apply TEMA beyond scope criteria ???

How to apply TEMA beyond scope criteria ???

(OP)
TEMA has general scope criteria as any of the following do not exceed -
1. Inside Diameter =2540 mm
2. Design Pressure = 20684 kPa
3. Product of nominal dia & design pressure = 17.5 x 106 mm-kPa

Also TEMA says, criteria contained in these standards may be applied to units which exceed the above requirement.

Can someone guide me how to apply these criteria for those exchangers?

Can we extrapolate the TEMA tables for higher diameter, etc., in section 5 to work out baffle thickness, to select no. of tie rods??? How??

RE: How to apply TEMA beyond scope criteria ???

Experience, good engineering judgement and common sense.

Regards,

Mike
