I'm making exploded views and taking screenshots of a large assembly for an assembly manual we're making. I want the sub-assembly view I'm working with to be easily visible, but I'd also like the rest of the components dimly visible so that shop guys have a frame of reference when putting it together. With smaller assemblies, I'd just set the transparency of the non-relevant parts to 0 so they could see the wire frame, but with an assembly this large, that's just as distracting as having it full color. Does anyone have a recommendation for a better way to go about this?

What version of NX ?

See Thru Emphasis is what you may want to be using.

NX 9.0.3.4
NX 10 (Testing)
Windows 7 64 (Windows 8.1 Tablet)

Sorry, NX8.

Is see-thru emphasis in the object display dialog?

RE: Make certain components dimly visible in assembly

I believe it should be available in NX8, not sure where though.

Try the command finder.

NX 9.0.3.4
NX 10 (Testing)
Windows 7 64 (Windows 8.1 Tablet)
