Create Point on Curve

Create Point on Curve

RE: Create Point on Curve

Hello,

if you mean the distance to the beginning of the curve, just create a point, switch the type to "point on curve" and enter the distiance on the location on curve.

Best regards
Carsten

RE: Create Point on Curve

(OP)
I mean just at distance of 30mm from one end of the curve (on the curve)
I've tried the said option but in vain.

RE: Create Point on Curve

Maybe you are using not the same point command.
from Menu: Insert - Datum/point - point
Then you have the options from the further post.

Thanks cschnei,
Additionally I had to select Offset Option--> Along Curve --> Select the curve--> Enter distance (Arc Length)
Seems i was missing this important step.

RE: Create Point on Curve

In the Point dialog, you will find this under "Offset Option- Along Curve"

RE: Create Point on Curve

You have to create a point on the curve. What would be a better way to communicate?
Point with an option of
a. Distance on Curve
or
b. Offset Along Curve

And they are spending lots of resources on changing the interface, ribbon bars,etc..
