Hi,
Does anyone have a tip on what material SsT45.3 can be compared With? Is there a site that has a good table for this you can recommend?
Tried a Google search, but it doesn't seem to find this material.

ST is steel according to DIN standards (Germany - now EN standards)
Are you sure of the material type ? furthermore is it metal ?

Any other clues? Country of origin of drawings, machinery etc?
As said above,most likely :
GS 45.3 (guss -stahl(german 'cast steel).Old DIN standard. No other material designated 45.3, and quite common.)
SS Abbreviation for Swedish Standard
SS Abbreviation for stainless steel (but not in Swedish standard)
S-Constructural steel in EN- standards
St - older for steel (Scandinavian and German standards)
T? (not used??)

For information of similar writing grades:
St52-3(St52.3),it is low alloy steel grade in German steel standard Din17100,you can check on St52-3 mechanicals
SG-45.3,it is one grade in European standard,main application is for flywheel,steam driven hammer and so on.
