I have the new 2003 edrawings professional and when I open it the measure tool is disabled. Anyone know how to enable it?

RE: E-drawings and measure tool

Did you actually pay for professional?  If you did not buy professional it is greyed out.  The old dangle the carrot trick.

RE: E-drawings and measure tool

First of all, make sure you have the registered version of E-Drawings Prof. and have the License Key entered.
When filing E-Drawing data, there is a "ENABLE MEASURE" box in the bottom of the "SAVE AS" menu.  This needs to be checked when creating your E-Drawing file.

Thank you, I had to do the save as and check the enable box and that worked.. That does not make any sense to me. I would think that it would be enabled by default.

RE: E-drawings and measure tool

I thought that also, but what it does is give the sender the ability to share files and still protect sensitive data from being scaled or copied.
I agree though, maybe the box should be "disable measure".

RE: E-drawings and measure tool

Look in the SWX Knowledge Base area within the subscription service area of their website.  If you search by date from 11-01-02 to today's date (as I did this morning) there is one new entry specifically on this subject.  It says to do just as jdmsi suggested.  It further goes on to say that they made the default this way so that it prevented inadvertant enabling of the measure command.  Read their knowledge base for the exact text.
