I am new here and wanted to ask a quick question.
How is the work done per cycle formula derived as W = efficiency x R x TH x ln (V3/V4)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not a student, I am lecturing at college and have inherited this unit to deliver. I don't know the derivation for this as it seems incorrect to me.

I am attaching a page related to your OP. I would suggest that you go to the library and get a book on Fundamentals of Classical Thermodynamics and learned about these thermo. cycles because you'll probably will need to explain other cycles such as the Air Standard Otto and diesel cycles, refrigeration cycles and perhaps others.
