Plane stress problem in ANSYS

Plane stress problem in ANSYS

Plane stress problem in ANSYS

(OP)
Hello,
I work on simple plane stress analysis in ANSYS. I use PLANE183 finite element. My model is simple plate fixed at left end and loaded by concentrated force at right end.

I wonder why I get always the same von Mises Stresses even when I change surface thickness.

Any suggestions?

RE: Plane stress problem in ANSYS

Did you set keyopt 3 equal to 3? If not, the default is 0 which is unit thickness, and the thickness real constant is ignored.
