Thin Walled Sandwich Cylinder

Thin Walled Sandwich Cylinder

Thin Walled Sandwich Cylinder

(OP)
Hello!

I am having problems with a thin-walled sandwich cylinder.  First, the face sheets are made from 7075-T73.  The outer face has a radius of 400mm and a wall thickness of 0.406mm.  The core is made from ROHACELL (a strutural foam) and has a thickness of 7mm.  The inner face is again 7075-T73 aluminium, with a thickness of 0.406mm.

The struture is subjected to high axial compressive loads and a large bending moment.

What element type should I use?

Thanks!
