Online Testing
Online Testing
(OP)
Dears,
We are planning to introduce online testing for pressure relief valves (possible ones eg: pilot operated exempted).
We would like to know-
what all the ASME accepted online testing methodologies (lift assisted) available?
Who all are the vendors using various methods?
In which section of ASME says about online testing methodology and acceptance criteria?

RE: Online Testing
Today 'Online' is more related to doing something over the internet. I don't think you can test a PSV over the internet.
Maybe you mean 'In-Service' testing, as when the line is filled with the commodity and is at the full operating pressure and temperature.
Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
RE: Online Testing
I agree that the word is more related to internet which does't mean that we cannot use the same in other contexts. Moreover, I don't think that ASME is accepting any tests on PSVs over the internet.
I can put a hyphen- 'On-line' testing. I hope it is more clear to you now. Yes, it is 'In-Service' testing.
Kindly share your knowledge on the below mentioned:

RE: Online Testing
I could not find any information that addresses your specific question.
