ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.8-2

ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.8-2

ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.8-2

(OP)
It's missing the zone dimensions. Checked 7-05 and it's also missing them. Checked online, found nothing.

Seems to me that for the figure on the right, Zone 3 and Zone 2 have width of "a".

For the figure on the left the Zone 2 and Zone 3 width looks to be "2a" if the scale is correct.

But in "6. Notation:" under the figure it says "Dimension "a" is as shown in Figure 30.8-1". This lends me to believe that all zone widths are "a" and that the figure on the left isn't scaled correctly.

RE: ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.8-2

I think they needed to fit twice as many zones in the same shape on the right, so they ignored scale.

RE: ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.8-2

I believe Zones 2 and 3 for both of the graphics in Figure 30.8-2 have width "a" as indicated in Figure 30.8-1. There's no rational reason as to why the scale of the two graphics in Figure 30.8-2 is different so don't dwell on it or be misled by it.

sounds good. if you look closely at the figures you can see their used to be dimensions and they erased them..
