Adding multi-select rule to the toolbars
Adding multi-select rule to the toolbars
(OP)
Greetings all!
It must be the most stupid question to date, but I can't understand how to add multi-select rule to the toolbars either in NX8.5 or in NX9.0 with it's ribbon interface... Please help!

BTW, it's basically the same in NX 9.0:

And while we are at it - what does 'Up one level' button do?

For example, in modeling, use the 'clip work section' command to section your model and use the 'save copy of section curves' to create curves on the section cut (the default behavior is to add all of these curves to a new group). Start the delete command and select one of the section curves; now choose 'up one level' to select all the section curves at once.

The second most common situation is that you might have a group of objects, like say points that were Imported into NX using the new (in NX 8.5) File -> Import -> Points from File... where you can create a set of points, whose coordinates were read from a text file, and they come in as a named group. Well if you wanted to select the entire group, you could just pick one of the points and then hit the 'Up One Level' icon to pick the entire group of points.
Anyway, this function has been around for years but most people never really learned what it was used for, but now you know...
