sections on SW 2014 drawings

sections on SW 2014 drawings

(OP)
I just switched to SW 2014 and am making my first drawing

In previous versions to cut a section I simply draw a construction line where I needed it and clicked on section view.

Now when I do that I get an error message " Cannot create section line with construction geometry at both ends"

What does this mean, and how should I be creating a section now?

RE: sections on SW 2014 drawings

You can either use a non-construction line or, if your desired cut is a typical type (i.e. horizontal, vertical...) you can just go right into the section view command and choose the type. Then you'll be able to place the section view as needed.

Great
I see the non construction line works just like the construction line used to work
Thanks

Always read through the Whats New before using the next release. Items like are probably in the whats new... if you skipped a couple of versions then you will want to skim through each one. I usually just pick the chapter I am spend the most time in to see what has changed.

Try the SW14 way ... you may be very pleasantly surprised.
