I have a tank which stats that it was built to API J26. I can find no reference to the code. The alumimum storage tank was built in 1962. Can anyone me a clue on where to find this API standard?

Probably API 12G, the one looking like a J and the G looking like a six. Link here:

Note that the other API 12-series tank standards are pretty sketchy on design information, and pretty much just give you tank sizes, thickness, etc. So depending on what information you're needing, actually getting hold of that document may or may not help you.

There used to be an ASME B96.1 standard for aluminum tanks, which was very similar to API-650 for steel tanks. API-650 now includes an Appendix AL for aluminum tanks.
