SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

(OP)
Hi

I have to model a beam with slab from one side supported at top of beam and another slab supported at bottom from other side.

how can I model it in SAP2000?

Regards

RE: SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

Is it a simple span?

RE: SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

You can probably just ignore the slab step altogether for modeling. Alternately, you can make some fake, infinitely rigid hangers or posts to connect to whichever slab you decide to offset.

The greatest trick that bond stress ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't exist.

@BAretired span has five bays central bay has stairs and 2 bays on both sides has slabs at 10.5' and 13' height. side bays are of 23.5' and central bay is 14'.i need to place one slab at 10.5' and second slab at 13'. so I have idea to put one slab on top and second at the bottom of beam.
@Ktook how to model these hangers in SAP2000.

RE: SAP2000 MODELING PROBLEM

Maybe best to model it as an 'L' beam with top slab, ignoring the bottom slab so far as stiffness is concerned.
