SACROC CO2 pipeline compression performance

SACROC CO2 pipeline compression performance

(OP)
Hello,

I am doing research on the Canyon Reef Carriers Pipeline (SACROC Unit). Specifically on the compression system in the mid 1970s.

I have found some vague evidence in the Journal of Petroleum Technology, that there were in fact compressor problems which resulted in loss of production.

Also Babcock Eagleton conducted a complete hydraulic analysis of the pipeline and then upgraded the original CRC CO2 pipeline which was built in 1971.

My problem is that I can only find vague references to the compressor problem and I need to find specific published documentation of the problem (w/ detailed tech specs if possible).

If anyone has experience with this project or has knoweledge about where to find specific documentation it would be very helpful.

I have already scoured the Society of Petroleum Engineers and found nothing detailed enough.

- Thanks
